Avery Mizrahi is a freshman at Harvard College studying neuroscience.

Avery is fascinated by the circuitry of the brain and the role it plays in everything from decision-making to neurodegeneration. As a former NSF-fellow of the Yassa Lab at the University of California, Irvine, she conducted research on Alzheimer’s Disease Biomarkers and Highly Superior Autobiographical Memory. At the Hamilos Lab, Avery plans to compare the neural patterns underlying decision making in mice and humans to better understand how dopamine drives behavior. In addition to eventually pursuing a neuroscience PhD, Avery currently enjoys dance, reading, and the outdoors.
